In the spirit of Belgian brewing tradition, we started our own back in 2019 by collaborating on a specialty beer just for the holidays. If you’re familiar, you know a true Belgian Holiday Ale makes the perfect companion to any celebration, with aromas of Belgian yeast, citrus, and dark malts.

Previously, we brewed a Dark Imperial Saison with our friends at Blackberry Farm Brewery. This season, we called upon our friends at Central Standard. After much discussion of our favorite styles, we finally landed on a Belgian Style Dark Strong Ale, brewed with Turkish figs, Medjool dates, tangerine peel, dark sugars, our best-loved Belgian Trappist yeast and aged on French oak staves.

Much like some of our other beloved Belgian beers, we bottle conditioned this beer to ensure higher carbonation and a longer shelf life. Pouring ruby brown in color the aromatics are sweet, with notes of molasses, vanilla, and dried fruits. A medium bodied ale, it is subtly sour with moderate bitterness and sweetness.

Coming in at 11.5% ABV, this Holiday Ale is perfect for a festive toast, and will be available for purchase exclusively in our Tours & Rec Center Gift Shop and Curbside Pickup. Online and in-person sales begin Monday, December 14th at noon. 750ml bottles will be $18.99. Limit six bottles per transaction. Bottle pours will also be available in our Beer Hall for a limited time.
