Imperial Stout with Petite Sirah Grapes
The base of this beauty is an Imperial Stout aged 14 months in bourbon barrels. Petit Sirah grapes, which offer flavors of black pepper, blackberries and licorice were added for an additional 2 moths of secondary fermentation. The brewers chose a more viscous base stout recipe for this wine hybrid to bring forward a greater level of chocolate, espresso and vanilla. Subtle wine flavors come through with hints of red cherries and berries and there is a light tannic finish.
